Oklahoma Burning
Ruella Yates, 2006
20" x 16", Encaustic on Clay Board
Because of drought, extremely low humidity, and warm temperatures, wildfires are decimating thousands of acres in Oklahoma. This painting is my response to the tragedy.
The ancient art of Encaustic Painting is a consuming passion for Oklahoma City/Seattle artist Ruella Yates. Her paintings reflect this passion and beauty, exuding energy. She uses the finest organic beeswax, damar crystals for hardening, and premium pigments in her work. Most of Ruella's paintings are true encaustics. All paintings are copyrighted images.
